In most cases, the primary camera of a smartphone has a wide-angle lens. This allows it to capture as much of the scene as its focal length allows it to. However, sometimes it’s just not enough.

Wide-angle lenses are definitely a heaven-sent in mobile photography, especially when there is a lot of scenery you want to capture. Even if you have a multiple-camera smartphone with an ultrawide lens, it doesn’t hurt attaching a wide-angle lens to your primary camera. That way you can still take advantage of the primary camera’s better camera specs.
